Great North American Eclipse of 2024
Just an amazing experience that I got to share with my immediately family. We traveled to northern Arkansas in the Ozarks and couldn’t have asked for better weather on Eclipse Day!
There was a visible prominence to the naked eye peaking around the moon and 2 stars visible in my corona image off to the left. The corona to the eye stretched many sun diameters and was breathtaking!
Caught a huge coronal mass ejection (CME) off the sun's limb today! I had to process it. This happened in just 40 min. Using timing between images and pixel counts. The CME starts at 105,000mph and accelerates to 135,000mph as it blows away from the sun!!
